About Dry Run Creek Falls

Very Easy To Find, Very Easy To Visit

bt-mary-10920.jpg (46000 bytes)

This is the little side fall. You can get up close to observe and take photos of trout without bothering them. As long as you don't walk in the water they will not spook. But if they hear your feet crunching gravel in the water they WILL quit jumping!

There is a nice paved parking lot about 200 feet from the falls, and a set of stairs leads down to the viewing area. The waterfall parking area is right across the road from the Norfork National Fish Hatchery. The Hatchery is open daily if you want to see how trout are raised.

The main fall is about 5 feet high and some 60 feet across. Fishing in Dry Run Creek is legal for youths under the age of 16 accompanied by an adult, and for mobility-impaired anglers. Dry Run is a catch and release area and all fish caught must be immediately released. Only artificial lures with one single barbless hook per pole may be used. No marshmallows, salmon eggs, or moldable substances such as Power Bait, Power Eggs, or Zeke's Gold type baits. Fishing is allowed from sunrise to sunset. Please consider not fishing during the spawning run. If your child catches a female trout she'll lose her eggs.
